It was expected but not too early that Japan is offering 20% cut knock down on 20GB version of Sony's PS3 console. The original cost of the console is 49980 (US$412) that will cost you 39980 (US$329) after 20% wave-off. The offer lasts until Feb 14th.

The discount makes it look like they are just trying to push their overstock out of store shelves and then bringing back the price to its original figure.
Certainly, the discount offered at Japanese store shelve has justified the market analysts' study that says PS3 and Xbox360 have the greatest affinity towards price lowering but this immature slash down has stormed the gamers as well as analysts.
The offer seems saying 'We are very sorry as the PS3 reached this price hack inopportunely but we have none other way-out!'
