Although the Japanese release of Me and My Katamari (MMK) is less than a week away, we are getting newer knews on the game still. Now the latest issue of Famitsu reveals that MMK will also have an unlockable 2D side-scrolling minigame as a bonus! It is also named Me and My Katamari. It has pixilated graphics that looks like an 8-bit game. Here too, like the main MMK, the game objective is to build up a huge Katamari clump by rolling it around surroundings and picking up remains of various kinds.
Maybe the disaster in the Indian Ocean last year inspired the present objective of the game. It is to create new islands for animals that became homeless after getting hit by a huge tsunami. Players take the role of the tiny Prince of All Cosmos and roll up huge balls of debris to be turned into new islands by the King of All Cosmos, his father. The players succeeding in making huge Katamaris on a given stage will be able to unlock the eternal mode (without any timer) for that stage as a reward.
Apart from the above, extra features in Me and My Katamari include - a gallery mode for playing unlocked movies and music, a scoreboard and also a photo album mode in which players can view snapshots they’ve taken during the course of the game.
