After finishing Vietcong 2, Mafia II development has put Illusion Softworks back on work. Mafia II - first sequel in the Mafia series is a new project underway from Illusion for two next-gen consoles (Xbox360 & PS3) and PC platform.
Following footsteps of its original title, Mafia II will feature a GTA styled hybridized gameplay of driving and on-foot action. The game takes place in a fictional city inspired by flourishing criminal world in late 1930s and 40s in NY City and Chicago.
Although, it’s true that the sequel has some connections with the original game, but entirely new plot, new protagonist especially developed for the latest iteration, and graphics enhancement will make it outshine its predecessor.

Mafia II is likely to offer the ability to change clothes of main character. However, the character changed clothes in Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven as well, but players have no control over it.
2K Games has launched first screenshots for the game as well. Far better from the original game, the very first images of Mafia II show distinct gameplay filled with photorealism, and intense atmospheric interactivity highly conducive for GTA-styled title.
Presently, only this much is known, we will keep you posted as any new info surfaces.
