Meanwhile, another tempting thing is confirmation of its entirely new FPS dubbed Borderlands for the PS3, Xbox360, and PC portal.
In a press briefing, 2K has announced that Gearbox Software has teamed up with 2K to develop a new FPS with an RPG element ‘Borderlands’ for the next-gen consoles and Windows.
New sci-fi shooter blends FPS action with character development and an arsenal of weapons for a unique cooperative gaming experience.
Few Key features of the game are:
• An extraordinary cooperative experience, allowing multiple players to share the same game experience simultaneously online. Players can freely join/leave each other’s games at anytime
• Realistic character animation, impressive real-time physics, and character & vehicle customization feature for ‘vehicular combat’
• An all-new sci-fi action genre with groundbreaking content including numerous randomly generated missions, environments, enemies, and weapons to create an unprecedented gaming experience

Currently, this much is known about Gearbox’s new sci-fi shooter, more is likely to be revealed in the September issue of Game Informer Magazine.
Borderlands has been tentatively slated for Q4 2008 release over various platforms it supports, however, the release date is vague, hence might see a change.
