2K undergoing Hard times, The Darkness censored in Singapore

Two weeks and two 2K games are banned. What the flipping heck! Following the censorship of Manhunt 2, The Darkness is tossed into the abyss disgracefully.

Neither UK nor US, but this time, it's Singapore administration that looks anxious about the content of the game. The Singapore-based site Game Axis reports that the game is accused of depicting high-violence (nothing new). The site says that The Darkness is officially banned in Singapore for, what the local censorship have dubbed, excessive violence. The Darkness won't ever be sold here. I think Game Axis has rightly said that we can never expect GTA IV here.

Bioshock might be the third in the line detected on suspect-radar that can be banned. This is also a 2K game (multiplatform) slated for this Aug launch.

The idea of banning the M-rated content for violence really falls flat on my mind, because the videogame is an animation work intended for entertainment, hence to impose such restriction on such a creative work is nothing more than dishonoring it.

Why 2K is made a scapegoat? Why only M-rated games are aimed at by lawmakers? Is there really something outrageous in the game that makes it controversial? These are a couple of questions that often stir our minds, however, we fail to find an appropriate answer.

In my opinion, a game deserves a censorship only if it contains some hidden sexuality, or else vetoing a game for violence portrayals is nothing more than politicizing the issue.
