Ubisoft has been working on their line of Petz games for a long time, and they have now unveiled yet another addition to the series. It is called Petz Rescue for the Nintendo DS and Wii. The game itself is centred around protecting the wildlife, as well as the earth. Petz Rescue comprises of 3 sub-games.
Petz Rescue Wildlife Vet - Players take on the role of a young vet that must care for animals, as well as discover and treat the causes of animal illnesses.
Petz Rescue Endangered Paradise - Players join a team of environmentalists with the aim of protecting the wild life.
Petz Rescue Ocean Patrol - Players choose between two characters, Mila or Greg, and help in assisting their uncle in saving marine wildlife on an isolated island.
Tony Key of Ubisoft was excited about the expansion and reminded us that the Petz series is the 6th best selling Ubisoft brand and has sold over 13 million units world wide. He also talked about the objectives of the game, which all in all are to teach little children to protect and save wildlife. I firmly agree with his approach because it is important to teach children to care for all the little creatures in their environment and this would be a good medium to use, since kids are very receptive towards games.
All 3 games are set for release on the DS in October 2008. Petz Rescue Wildlife Vet is also set for release on the Nintendo Wii.
