The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL) have done their tie ups with Aimee Weber Studio to provide Second Life civilians 3D visualized weather forecast that is ready for launch in 3D world this November. In real sense it’s an education project primed by coworkers of NOAA and ESRL in Second Life. Three dimensional visualized weather forecasts consist of real time updation by means of realistic application for SL.
The whole phenomenon includes the METAR information reception from spotted stations over the map of the US via NOAA per eight minutes and after decoding the data comes out as weather update fro that particular areas giving real feel to the visitors via appropriate representations of temperatures by warm or cool shades of color.

The project is a beautiful alliance of virtual life 3d visualization and real time data.
