Act of benevolence: Massive donates space for high school PSA

Massive Inc., the in-game ad network has announced that it has donated media to The Advertising Council to support its new public service advertising (PSA) campaign aimed at preventing students from dropping out of high school.

So when you play Anarchy Online, PlanetSide or The Matrix Online, you can expect to see this ads this month.

Launched by the Ad Council and the US Army and created by New York ad agency JWT, the new campaign christened 'Boost' is an extension of the Ad Council's and the US Army's Operation Graduation initiative that was launched in 2000.

The new PSAs feature stories of real teens throughout the country documenting their struggles to stay in high school.

With all the talk about gaming having negative impact on kids, this is a way to show the anti-game crusaders that popularity of gaming can really, really be used to promote good causes.
