Activision snaps up maker of Guitar Hero, Red Octane

Video Game developer Activision Inc. paid oodles of cash to acquire the maker of the Guitar Hero franchise RedOctane. The amazingly popular PlayStation2 game comes complete with a guitar shaped controller and allows future rock stars play along to 30 different tracks. It seems Activision has high hopes on this bizarrely popular game. May not as hyped as the super biggies, but people are anticipating the sequel of it. So, 'many potential extensions' of Guitar Hero are on the offing and Activision is ready to explore the international versions believed to be somewhat transition proof.

Red Octane management team and key employees have signed long term employment contract with Activision. The financial details of the deal however was not disclosed to the press.
