Big names such as Electronic Arts Phenomic Studio, SEGA and NHN Games are working closely with chipset maker AMD, developing games based on the new DirectX 10.1 framework. Their overall strategy is to push the frontiers of high-definition and high quality gaming by maximizing areas such as visual realism and increasing gaming performance. AMD, which now owns ATI (graphics card manufacturer) is offering a line of new video cards and GPUs which feature top-to-bottom DX10.1 support. ATI is currently the only card manufacturer offering a complete GPU which has total support for the new DirectX. If you are looking to get one of these high-end video cards, check out the ATI RadeonHD 3000 and ATI RadeonHD 4800 series.

AMD recently showcased the high level performance capabilities by demo-ing a game called “Ping Pong” which highlighted the new graphical techniques being used. This is certainly something to look forward to. When DirectX 10 was initially introduced, gamers were not all too much impressed since visual quality, back then was not pushed to its limits. However, manufacturers are seeing it’s potential and are pushing its limits, with outstanding results that make us drool over ourselves.
