AMD announces new graphic cards for mobile gaming

AMD has added to its ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4800 series by announcing ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4860 and HD 4830. These mobile graphics processing units are touted as the first notebook GPUs to use AMD’s 40nm process technology. ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4860 and 4830 promise a world beyond HD and gaming at full throttle. Both the cards support DirectX 10.1 and HDMI with 7.1 Surround Sound, promising unparalleled gaming performance on notebooks. Also claiming energy-efficiency and longer battery lives consequently, both the chips are ATI CrossFireX and ATI PowerXpress Ready. 4860 even supports GDDR5 memory. More specs here. Asus laptops are first in line to feature these chips when new machines come out in second quarter this year. And you thought there was no bettering GeForce announcement. And by the way one can only fathom what these chips may do for laptop gaming.
