Nintendo, for sure seems to want us to give our burgers and fries the boot, and take to their fitness games. The game developers at Nintendo for sure are a very fitness conscious lot, with them launching game after game modelled on the fitness platform and joining the already burgeoning fitness game titles is the brand new 'My Health Coach: Weight Management' game title for their DS Lite mobile gaming console. In this age of increasing obesity and health problems, this fitness game title aims to regulate our eating and make us fighting fit.

Talk about games intruding our daily lives. Although i don't like it too much, Nintendo is tasting quite some success with this strategy with the Wii Board and Wii Fit gaming titles doing very well. So, sound business sense maybe. And coming to the DS Diet game itself, this game is basically your personal trainer which monitors your progress and apparently even motivates you to get that extra bit fitter. To make all this possible, this game has a plethora of features like a personal profile-to create and manage your personal health and fitness routine, input reward system- to log your progress and track your exercise and eating and a Real-Life Landmark Checkpoint- which shows your exercise progress relative to a real life example like distance, etc, among many others.
And now, Nintendo pushes it a little too far with a smart accessory called the detachable pedometer which keeps tab on the calories you burn on your daily routine. This game might be very exciting to a lot of people, but for me, it makes the very likable DS lite gaming console, a very instrusive "pesky" device.
