Well another non-intelligent person slaps all the crime to games. Apparently if you play something like Grand Theft Auto, you will actually go out, jack a car while screaming profanity, then run some people over and shoot others with an AK. May I ask everyone, how many times has this happened? There are literally millions, if not billions, of people who play games and does even 5% of them do these things? I think not! Well, Noel Gallagher believes so and pushes all the blame onto video games. He also lays blame onto the good ‘ol reefer.
People say it’s through violent video games and I guess that’s got something to do with it. If kids are sitting up all night smoking super skunk and they become so desensitized to crime because they’re playing these video games, it’s really, really scary.
I suppose if I play Oblivion for hours on end, like I already do, I will dawn armor and pick up a silver shortsword then wield it against some town guards and have a sword fight using magic spells against them. Besides, hypothetically speaking, if you were smoking some grass while playing a violent game over and over and over you’d become hypnotized and do everything that character does. Well I just have one thing to say to that. You sir, are completely oblivious.
If he believes gamers are the source of crime in the UK, then gamers that fit this bill can meet a variety of standards, which 99.99% don’t meet. For starters, they have no perception of reality and fiction. Second of all they they don’t understand that picking up a gun and shooting people is wrong and that they shouldn’t do it. Finally, they have absolutely no life and will obviously blame it on games when they are caught and only add fuel to the people like Mr.Gallagher thinks. Oh well, at least us real gamers know right from wrong, fiction from fact, and have some life. But I will leave you with three questions. Did video games cause WWII? Did they cause WWI? Did they cause Vietnam? I don’t think so.

Hey Taylor.. Blaming crime on games is definitely lame. It is like saying people are so demented that they get influenced by everything that they see or do. Mind doesn’t work that way. I agree with you when you say that crime influenced by gaming is a minuscule percentage. And when you smoke dope, you would be in an altered state of mind and that could stop you from judging reality. Even otherwise, most crime is committed by sane, scheming and manipulative individuals who are driven by a need to hurt others. They have no reason to blame either gaming or dope.
PS: I however like Mr Noel Gallagher and his band’s music.
Yes, I know what you mean. Although, he isn’t the first one to blame crime on gaming but he doesn’t seem to learn from the people before him that by making millions of people think he is an idiot never helps. Oh well, I suppose people never learn but it is just idiotic to even conceive this idea that people playing games would cause crime.
It stems from the insecurity of growing old. Most old people don’t enjoy gaming because it is, well played by youngsters. Noel was not part of the gaming generation and hence he views it with suspicion. In fact it is a shame he made such an infantile comment. It is like saying you watch someone fight and you join in the fight. Such humbug
Such remarks really suck, you know. I mean don’t such people, you call them critics, have anything like brain or something to check the validity of their nonsensical opinions? Games producing criminals; it’s all bullshit............
I honestly don’t think they do. If you were to actually search, you would find dozens of high placed people saying this to get a few things.
1) Get in the spotlight
2) Try to seem intelligent
3) Attempt to solve the age old question on where crime boils down to.
Apparently he was born when games got violent because what I said in the last part of the article, did games cause either world wars? Did that cause Vietnam? Hell did they cause ANY wars? Besides, there’s stats out there like you said that pin it on a multitude of things.

It is quite stupid to blame things on games, or movies for that matter
I will add that they do have adverse effect on people playing them like stupids but that goes for almost everthing, over doing anything will cast adverse upon ones involved.

Oh yes. By the way, did you happen to videotape yourself rolling on the ground laughing because I would love to see it so I could too, haha. But seriously, this has been going on for a long time with youtube videos being recorded and people like Noel trying to look smart but really it is just making them look like dumbasses. In fact, they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about and frankly violence is part of human nature and these objects rarely, if ever, influence what we may, or may not do. Ahh oh well, I can’t wait for his reaction when all gamers who listened to his music stop and his sales go down the crap shoot.
