Sometimes, games make their debut on torrent sites before they are officially released, thanks to piracy and illegal uploading. Ubisoft's Assasin's Creed was out on the net in February even before it was launched officially leading to about 700,000 illegal downloads. The leakage was traced to an employee of a disc-copy manufacturer and now, the disc-copy company has assumed responsibility for the employee's actions. Ubisoft also has accused the disc company of gross negligence and filed a case. The game itself had a hidden bug to crash the game mid-way through. This brings in to focus the Internet piracy and also how a single person's irresponsible actions can result in the loss of millions of dollars for the gaming industry.
