Who does not enjoy the adventures of Asterix and if you become a part of the adventure in the virtual space, it is no doubt a great idea. Atari has announced the release of 'Asterix at the Olympic Games'. This is good news for PlayStation 2, DS, Wii or PC owners. Atari will combine live action elements from the hugely popular film with computer-generated animations.

Atari has a highly successful history of publishing high quality video games based on the Asterix brand, three million of which have been sold in Europe until date.
The Wii, PS2 and PC versions of the game will sport two gameplay modes - adventure mode and antique mode. In the adventure mode the player as either Asterix or Obelix, switching characters on the fly and facing sporting challenges on the way. In the antique mode, the player can play as any one of the 12 characters and can go head to head with either the computer or a friend through the series of contests. As for the DS version, the player can take on the role of either Asterix or Obelix through 120 sporting challenges.
The game is developed by Etranges Libellules in collaboration with Asterix licensor Les Editions Albert Rene and with film production company La Petite Reine.
