Sony has announced B-boy for PS2 and PSP

Sony has made up its mind to make you dance, at least through its newsly announced game. Sony has announced that it is bringing B-boy to its two consoles - the PS2 and PSP this September. B-boy is a word that was actually coined for ‘break dancer’ however, now it is identified as someone affiliated to the hip-hop culture.

FreeStyleGames are developing this game now in alliance with Crazy Legs and DJ Hooch.

The game’s theme is that in B-Boy Life mode the player has to build up a team and fight real-life superstar b-boys that include the original b-boy - Crazy Legs.

Crazy Legs says;

B-boy culture is one of the four core elements of hip-hop, and the team SCEE and FreeStyleGames have managed to put together this game in a way that means the hip-hop community can be sure that the integrity and art of b-boying won’t be compromised. It’s great to know that they have actively sought out the real b-boys that make the scene what it is today to make this game happen.

There are over 800 motion captured moves to learn and players will have to develop their skills as they go up from street competitions to the world championships. In this process they will also be gaining in hierarchy from the hip-hop community.

The interesting thing about the game is that it will also include an arcade mode where you can play against your friends or other b-boys and the PSP version supports wireless multiplayer as well.

Anyway, you can create your own B-boy in both the versions. The game will include more than 40 licensed hip-hop classic funk tracks.

So ready to dance?
