Bill Gates: Motion controllers are not mainstream

In an interview with MTV, Bill Gates has questioned the wisdom of both Nintendo and Sony in developing motion-sensing controller. He is of the opinion that they could turn out to be a bit rubbish. For him, moving a controller like this around just does not have enough mass-market appeal.

Microsoft also had produced a controller like this years back that has supported 3-D movement massively. However, it doesn't appear that MS will be adding a motion-sensing controller to the Xbox 360 anytime soon.

Bill Gates thus feels that motion sensing controllers are not the future. If there is a future in something, it's going to be online gaming. Microsoft uberbigwig concludes.
