The latest news in the gaming industry is that the World of War(WoW) game has sold about 2.4 million copies and has about 9 million subscribers throughout the world. This is probably the most popular multiplayer game that exist as of now.
The latest version of the game is The Burning crusade into mainland China. This version has helped the sales of WoW skyrocket and shatter all the existing multiplayer game sales records.The president of Blizzard Entertainment , Mike Morhaime mentions:
We’re thrilled that gamers around the world have continued to embrace World of Warcraft so enthusiastically as we’ve worked hard to provide a compelling experience for our players.
He further adds:
We plan to continue updating the game with exciting new content for them to enjoy for many years to come.
With the launch of the Burning crusade version, the WoW subscribers and players have started to grow. As of now, the Wow community has about 9 million subscribers all over the world. Also, the subscriber base is expanding like crazy.
Initially when the WoW was released, there were a few problems that were mostly server related and performance oriented. With time and updates, these problems went away making this game the most popular multiplayer ever made.
Coupled with the launch of the new version and the shattering of sales records, Blizzard’s WoW has achieved major milestones. I think this is indeed an exciting time for the Blizzard Entertainment. Hopefully, there will be more cool versions coming up.
