At best we have some sketchy details, and, of course, a trailer to accompany them. But the anticipated release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 during the “holiday season” still has us quivering with excitement. The words from the Activision camp are just adding to that excitement by sounding awfully confident. Activision CFO Thomas Tippl said at the Wedbush Morgan Securities annual meeting that Infinity Ward’s work was “looking incredible.” He added:

"For 2009, Modern Warfare is coming back, we expect it will be the most anticipated game of the year. Perhaps the number one game of the year despite the fact that it's only going to launch in the holiday season.
With the success story the publishers charted with last outing of the Call of Duty franchise, it is hard not to share his optimism. Tippl also said that Activision was again looking for "leap-frogging development" and raising the bar in the shooting genre. We’ll wait and see, hoping that Tippl’s words are vindicated. Till then tell us your anticipated titles for this year.
