champions

Think a MMO replete with superheroes begging to be picked up and taken on romantic quests. Think Champions Online. Think July 14th release. Now think again! Cryptic Studios knows much better than to deliver a half-hearted effort in the superhero genre. That’s why a post on its Champions Online official page states that the game would now be coming on September 1 instead of the originally slated date of July 14. Design Director and Executive Producer of the game Bill Rover wrote this:

Through our constant dialogue with our vocal and supportive community of beta testers, we quickly realized that in order to implement certain features that we all considered important the development of Champions Online would require more time. So that’s what we’re going to give it. Cryptic has a proven track record of releasing solid games and we want to maintain that with Champions Online.

Fair enough. More beta time now would translate into a better experience later. And gamers always appreciate effort that goes towards improvement of the game, even if it inevitably delays release. Right?
