The new Playstation 3 is no doubt a piece of expensive machine, but lets look at this way, it’s a high end gadget with amazing specifications.

It may still be a little costly, but game fans in Australia, Africa, Middle East and Europe have something to be happy about; Sony is planning to launch a cheaper version of the PS3 on the 10th October.

It will cost EUR399($564), but will only come with a 40GB hard disk as opposed to the original version of 60GB. It cheaper by around $150, but another draw back in this version is that it won’t be able to recognize PS2 games.

You might want to save money to purchase the PS3 games.
This version of the PS3 will have only 2 USB ports (reduced from 4). Other feature includes a SIXAXIS wireless controller, Wi-Fi and HDMI connectivity.

Sony have removed the multi-memory card port but had stick to the blu-ray technology.

Sony will also be providing a limited amount of the original 60GB starter pack in Europe for a discount. It’s going to be on the racks for EUR499 ($705), but you better grab it fast while it’s still on the racks.
