China has more than 30 million online gamers. And not quite astonishingly the country gamers have paid more than $500 million as game subscription fee alone. The government is also awaking up to the phenomenon and wants a share of the action too.
It recently has announced a $2 billion plan to develop the industry. That's quite incredible, isn't it? The idea behind this move is to encourage local gaming companies to develop in-company infrastructure so that the country imports less and exports more.
