Xbox360 Elite sold-out at Circuit City? I got a bit confused as I went through Marcus Lai's post at punchjump.com, that claims the Xbox360 Elite has been sold over at US online retailer, Circuit City.
If you go through the official site of Circuit city, then you will understand the tic-tac-toe behind the manuscript. The site has stopped accepting preorders for the Xbox360 Elite, as all the consoles have been sold out, online.
However, Microsoft has set launch date for Xbox360 Elite in US on April 29th, 2007, and all the consoles have already been booked, even nine or ten days before its launch, across the region.
Xbox360 Elite is priced at $479.99 that comes bundled with HDMI cable and of course 120GB hard drive.
If you have a look at the webpage, you'll find the site has replaced the preorder button with a 'coming soon' text.
Unlike Sony, Microsoft hasn't discontinued its lower end console, and will continue selling all three models, simultaneously.
As you know, Sony has discontinued its 20GB PS3 model, immediately after few retailers withdrew it from their store shelves. Currently, the Xbox360 Elite will be in competition with Sony's 60GB PS3, but to stay in race, Sony has also expressed its intentions to bring the PS3 with bigger hard-drive so as to go head-to-head with Microsoft.
Though, no one had thought the Xbox360 Elite to be anything successful, but the current figures show that Elite will also follow its predecessor's footsteps.
