Cyber crooks targeting teen online gamers

As online gaming becomes a multi billion dollar industry worldwide, cyber crooks and online gamers are jumping into the field by hoards and are targeting gamers with deadly viruses written cleverly to steal assets that can be sold to other players internationally.

A security firm, Panda, in its study has noticed that gamers are ready to pay for virtual assets like weapons and power to reach higher levels of the game and increase their reputations.

In the last six months, Panda has noticed that three Trojans are targeting online games. This is a clear indication that malware authors have recognized the eagerness of players, mostly teens and early 20s, to pay for resources that can help them win the game.
