The analysis shows evidently that the young community is more bowing towards electronic games fro amusement purpose. 510 respondents were asked, 80 percent of which said it helps them relax while about two-thirds uttered that it helped them think logically. Out of net respondents, approximately 204 (40%) people of age-group 15-40 said that they prefer to play video games while the respondents falling in 15-20 age brackets showed greater tendency for video-games wishing to play daily.

Moreover the respondents tossed approx. HK$698 for leisure activities per month, out of which quite a big fraction i.e. 18% (HK$127) was tossed solely on games.

Robert Chung Ting-yiu, university’s Public Opinion Program chief criticizing the trend said that the teenagers are getting more and more indulged in the video games offering fewer chances to interact with other children. The video games are responsible for obesity like curse too in teenagers leading to the escalation of hypertension and cerebral diseases.
