Well, after selling millions of copies of the Xbox360 exclusive, most of us thought a sequel to ‘Dead Rising‘ was coming for sure, but it’s pitiable to hear that the game is currently not in production at all. Recently, talking to Gameinformer, Keiji Inafune, designer of Dead Rising, told that Capcom hasn’t yet started development work . But, this doesn’t mean that they have dropped the idea.
The designer has shown great interest in development of sequel and said that he’d like to produce a potential sequel.
Anyway, the interview has clarified that the game is still on cards and will be eventually out on the next-gen consoles. Discussing some issues, Inafune said that there are some difficulties like technology, money, manpower, etc that are obstructing the game development, hence need to be considered.
Dead Rising fans who were probably expecting a sequel to be announced would now be around sometime late next year. However, the game failed to break new ground in Europe and US, but at hometown, the game received a good response, and Capcom would be probably expecting it from coming sequel, as well.

Capcom is one of the strongest Japan based developers, who shows a great affection for Microsoft’s console. After developing Dead Rising, Lost Planet exclusively for Xbox360, we can hope sequel will also be coming as an Xbox360 exclusive.
