Nintendo applied for a patent on July 29, 2004 which was granted this month on 2nd. It reveals that Nintendo actually had plans for a multi-touch capable DS whose design is very different from any previous DS designs.



So what happened to the plans? Did Nintendo abort it or is keeping it for some futuristic DS?



We must not forget that out of all patent requests made, only some are realized into final products for many reasons. So, I won’t be surprised this was one of those ideas that didn’t click maybe because it is too busy with Rev now.
