It seems the ingenuity strikes again in the Wii arena. This time, Raphaël Assénat has come up with a way to connect old school Nintendo controllers to the modern day Wii. He was able to successfully connect the NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube controllers to the current Nintendo system. Let’s face it, what’s the fun in playing retro games on the new controller. It would be so difficult having to re-learn your figuring techniques after all those years of playing your friends on the older controllers. Raphaël has created a fully detailed Do-It-Yourself documentation, showing all the steps needed to integrate the controller into the Wii. You can check out the guide here. It features detailed and clear instructions, as well as some videos to guide you along the transformation process.
Assénat came up with the idea to carry out this project when he found out that Nintendo included the option for backward control support.
Nintendo’s idea of implementing support for NES, SNES and N64 games in their new console, the Wii, is in my opinion one of their greatest ideas. As soon as I learned that it would be possible to use Gamecube controllers to play those games, I started thinking about designing an Snes/Nes controllers to Gamecube adapter which would be compatible with the Wii.

Yes that’s true...I’ve seen so many crazy mods for the Wii recently...reminds me of the Scion xA cars, buy it and mod it.

The Sexy Girls of Gaming are really just Guys in Real Life!
Home is essentially a cross between ”Second Life” and Nintendo’s Mii avatars. PS3 users receive their own customizable avatars and virtual homes. Then they can chat via text and voice with and host friends online, find gaming buddies, buy and display virtual décor and goodies. The service is free, but clothing, furniture, and other toys will be sold through real money transactions. The free service is still in beta, but should be available to PS3 users worldwide by the end of the day on December 11. Nintendo Wii launched with support for player avatars and the Xbox 360 added avatar and related features with its November 2008 New Xbox Experience update. But PlayStation Home appears more sophisticated in its virtual world. The world features mini-games, in-world music options, trophy rooms and advertiser-supported locations. Whether or not Home will be a killer app for the PS3 remains to be seen. Some are grumbling that it looks like a virtual world where avatars try to sell you stuff you don’t need. Others, similar to those who see the value of no fax payday loans, are much more open-minded and hopeful that Home will be an online home away from home. Click to read more on Payday Loans.
