The highly anticipated next installment of Super Smash Bros. was released by Nintendo at the pre-E3 conference. The version will come to Wii in 2007. Along with the old characters some new will be introduced this time. This will include Pitt from Kid Icarus and Wario, Meta Knight from the Kirby series. Some current characters will also receiving some makeover.

It seems instead of using Wii unique controller, Brawl will rather go for a standard GameCube controller and not the Wii Remote or analogue attachment.
Confirmed new characters include:
Solid Snake (of Metal Gear Solid fame)
Pit (of Kid Icarus fame)
Zero Suit Samus (the blue no-suit from Metroid: Zero Mission)
Meta-Knight (from the Kirby games)
Wario
