ET: Quake Wars enters public beta next week

Splash Damage doesn’t feel at home with its delayed multiplatform, FPS title, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, hence has set the game into beta stage before retailing it. The public beta of the game will be distributed via FilePlanet. The beta will be asking for a registration, where they already have the client online and you will be able to download it from FilePlanet, for free. Those with paying accounts will get priority when the activation codes are distributed.

The publisher, Activision says that the beta will consist of a map called 'Sewer', which takes place in Japan and features both indoor infantry combat as well as outdoor with some vehicle-based action.

60,000 lucky players will be able to get their hands on the beta version that hasn’t activated, yet. However, when the beta kicks-off is currently unknown, but will probably go live, next week.

ET: Quake Wars is a fantastic FPS sequel to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and exploits Doom 3 engine in its PC version. The game was previously slated for launch over three different platforms (Xbox360, PS3, PC) in August, last year, but due to some malfunctioning, the developer held back its launch until undefined time. Now the game is likely to debut around this August that seems to be another fake release date. Will Splash Damage be able to complete its beta test, before august (to make appropriate changes in the game)?
