Fatal Inertia, Bladestorm not coming on time

Yashpal SharmaJul 5 2007

Fatal Inertia is another new title that takes you back to the PS3 exclusivity issue, let’s not fight anymore and just keep it aside. According to the recent reports, Fatal Inertia that was a PS3 exclusive waiting for its PS3 launch, has been delayed. The game was slated for November 2006 launch, and this is the second time when its launch has been pushed back.

Losing its PS3 exclusivity, the game will be coming to the Xbox360 as well, on September 11th, 2007. The thing became clumsy as a press release from Koei regarding title release mentions the release date of 360 version only. When being asked about delay, they replied that the launch has been pushed back (indefinitely) due to the development of the game engine for PS3.

The glitches with UE 3 sound a bit fishy because there are so many titles that looks pretty fine tuned to PS3.

Similarly, Bladestorm is another Koei title is undergoing the same dilemma (exclusivity and launch delay) whose launch has also been pushed back, indefinitely. However, it doesn’t make use of Unreal Engine 3, even then the launch on both (PS3 and Xbox360) has been delayed.

Despite engine problem, it could be the extra time that development team would have been requiring to ensure the highest levels of quality.

More info is likely to surface soon, so stick around.
