Free radical brining new Timesplitters exclusively for PS3?

The PS3's title-crate looks overloaded with hundreds of new games that are either coming to it or have been shipped. 'Official PlayStation Magazine' (OPM) UK tries to add one more to it as the magazine has confirmed the new Timespliters is in works from the same guys i.e. Free Radical, the team behind Timespliters that shipped as a PS2 exclusive, back in 2000.

According to the magazine, the team is presently engaged in concluding the PS3 time-exclusive 'Haze,' but it has already started the preliminary work for the next-gen version of Timesplitters. The game is likely to proceed from the place where the original Timesplitters ends. The circumstantial evidences confirm the next-gen version of the game as a unique brand of monkey and flaming mayhem and probably to follow the footsteps of its predecessor.

As the report confirms new Timesplitters as a PS3 exclusive, often, the game will be compared to its own clan (Haze).

Here is what Chris1007 has posted over at EuPlaystation.com Forum:

Steve Ellis (Free Radical) says, "they're 'gearing' up to insert monkeys and guns into all the wrong places.

After developing so many titles for Sony, Free Radical has expressed a great affinity for Sony hardware in the past few years, but the quote mentioned above questions the new Timesplitters' exclusivity. Anyway, we hope the developer would have doubled the playable levels to 18 (that were 9 in original game) to make it more fun.
