Game Ratings Help Parents: Activision

The video games are taking greater priority among all the age groups around the globe including veteran gamers and female gamers as well. Nintendo has kindled the torch with launching the next-gen console Wii that Nintendo says is the gaming console to break the existing perceptions of people towards video games. Nintendo says that console will primarily disperse among older and female gamers. The non-violent Casual games are also getting more popular in the gamers as it takes fraction of time to get into the game. ESRB is also showing its participation in the production of better and more playable game titles. The gamers around the world are also throwing in positive feedback with following ESRB ratings. Recently a survey done by renowned game publisher Activision has uncovered the fact that more than 80% of parents take into account the age rating authenticated by ESRB. The survey reveals facts as listed below:

84% of parents were more conscious than youngsters (65%) aged between 8-17 years.

79% were strict followers of the rating awarded by ESRB.

68% parents support the ESRB rating and said in support of the rating that the organization rightly determines the consequence of the gaming title.

52% parents do an acute research work before buying any gaming title for their kids.

Another drowning feature that came on the surface was 74% of parents view videogames as part of their family's life while huge 58% of the adults find themselves addicts of playing video-games.

In buying games said that the rating could meet its ultimate end only when parents will show their active participation. And survey has established that parents greatly rely on the rating subjected by ESRB.

The survey shows that the parents are showing greater involvement in their child's gaming habits that is for sure a good sign looking the indulgence of teen gamers in various malicious practices for what games are held responsible.
