Halo 2 is the long awaited sequel to the highly acclaimed first-person shooter ever created. Halo 2 preorders in the weeks leading up to the game's release, which demonstrates just how confident Halo's fans are in the sequel's quality. But is it that good really? The answer is a definite YES! Xbox's defining action game is an absolutely superb that is fully featured with excellent presentation. Not only that, it is a highly replayable campaign. Not surprisingly game reviewers have called it the greatest, most complete online multiplayer component in a console shooter yet.

However, what is disappointing is the story and a fairly short single-player portion. Having said that, Halo 2 is a much bigger entity than these noticeable pitfalls, and the action itself is outstanding its quality is amazingly top-notch.
Like its predecessor Halo, Halo 2 has repetitive designs undermining the action. Though the game's visuals are terrific battle events, it cinematic cut-scenes using the game's 3D engine make it looks decidedly rough when compared with the rest of the game.
Then, despite relatively good environs that is sometimes really breathtaking, you don't tend to take notice as you get so engrossed in the action itself.
Halo 2 seems like set in similar environs and locales though the game does take you into some new territory and pits you against some new threats like the Covenant battle tank and flying enemies. The fight sequences with them are perhaps the highlights of the game. Early on you'll be defending Earth itself from a Covenant assault, rampaging through the war-torn streets on foot, or on a Warthog 4x4, or in the belly of a devastating Scorpion battle tank. Quite thrilling indeed. From fate of Earth's defence in your hands, the game graduates to have other intentions, and rather suddenly changes gears after 4-5 hours.
Overall, it's one of the very best action games available. If you were not impressed with a few things (or the whole) in the original Halo, I can't see you enjoying this much either. But if you are a Halo fan, you would simply love it. We are giving it a thumbs up!
