I bumped into this (what I thought was an) insensitive and tastelessly written post where the author seemed to forget about the line between making a joke and ridiculing. Though the language appeared to me as mocking the visually challenged, it has some good information in it about games that are available for the blind to play.
The games can’t be called video games per se, however the objectives and thrill maybe similar to the blind as videogames are to us.
Audio Games has a list of games available for the blind to try out.
The post I mentioned above actually analyses a good game for the blind to try out - it is Sonic Invaders. The author writes;
There is information on the screen (score, lives, time to reload your guns), but it’s all redundant with information you receive aurally, and I think the game would be even more striking with no video at all. Sonic Invaders also has the bonus of being programmed in Greece, so both of the in-game voices (one male and one female) have sexy Greek accents.
The post concludes by saying that playing an audio game can be extremely relaxing, however, by the words and the fashion which author ends the post is making me think whether he really means what he has written.
Thanks mate despite being you are so confusing!
