Gaming being introduced in education is shocking enough. Now, researchers believe gaming can get people to kick that habit of smoking or drinking alcohol. One of the ‘healthy’ games, which is designed by Ubisoft’s Quebec studio and Allen Carr’s team, called ‘Allen Carr’s Easy way to Stop Smoking’ focuses on the reasons why people smoke rather than why they shouldn’t. The games are designed in a very accessible manner and can be played on Nintendo DS; even non-gamers can have a lot of fun while they quit smoking. Many young people, who don’t visit clinics or read self-help books on how to quit smoking, can benefit a lot from these games. Another game, ‘Walk the great wall of china’ helps people lose weight. Wii-fit and many other games are already competing against each other to help people lose weight. This might just be the beginning and gaming may be used in a variety of physical and mental ailments. So go on folks, keep gaming your way to health!
