Lyra’s adventures will now include enthusiastic gamers with them as Sega is all set to release the Golden Compass adventure of the orphan girl Lyra and her pals of the parallel universe. Golden Compass adventure games will be released by Sega for Nintendo DS and PlayStation 3 software on March 27, 2008.
The PS3 version of Golden Compass will be using a six-axis wireless controller to gain control over the characters in the adventure. The DS version of the game will use a 2-D side scrolling action for operation.
Players will impersonate Lyra in the game. As Lyra, they will use their daemon or the ever-faithful talking animal and collaborate with other characters in the adventure to collect special items to find Lyra’s lost friend Roger. On the way, the players will deal with oppositions from the Gobblers, the Magisterium and a dangerous spy fly. Gamers can also fight as Lorek who protects Lyra on her rescue mission.
There will be mini-games for the gamers to unlock secrets by using the truth telling golden compass. There will be 13 breath-taking locations to be explored by the players in their adventure.
