Second Life, the wonderful and mysterious creation Linden Lab in cyberspace that came into existence in 2003 is very rapidly expanding its wings in real world. More than 1 million virtual residents (avatars) have migrated to 3D Second Life within such a small span of time. As the virtual populace is growing the difficulties are mounting day by day as well. Few days earlier I talked about Copybot, the malpractice that ruptures the copyright to replicate the virtual things in 3D virtual world.

Analogous incident occurred on Sunday. A bug called grey goo infiltrated in the virtual world due to which it had to stop access to the 3D world for a while. The self-replicating bug came into form of spinning gold rings and surrounded the entire virtual world with it, due to which the whole server used by Second Life got sluggish with escalating influence of bug. The intrusion made the virtual inhabitants little angry leading to withdraw from the 3D world.

Few days before a similar incident sprouted out saying few ill practiceneers are trying to copy the virtual object like clothes that are highly hurting the virtual economy. Presently the 3D world economy is growing so furiously that if it continues at same pace it will soon beat the real world economy. Sensing the latest buzz, the brand names like Adidas and Reuters and Channel 4's Big Brother have steppe in virtual world business. The figures points out that the virtual economy is growing up at the rate of 38%/mioth.
The bug intrusion made few virtual residents disappointed and withdrew from the virtual business. There are few more crises like some sort of sluggish performance when around 15000 residents log in at a time. There are few more problems like price hikes in island purchase that too are testing virtual resident's patience.
Whatever it be, Linden Lab has to sort-out the problem to keep growing 3D world economy.
