There are still some four-odd months left for the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV. Already, the gamers are going ga-ga for it. Now, Rockstar has added to the euphoria by announcing a 'Special Edition' for the game.

The game, which is scheduled for a simultaneous release on Xbox 360 and PS3 in October, will be released in two editions - regular old edition and a special (read expensive) edition. These two editions, too, will be available on the same date. They will appear in North America on October 16 and in Europe on October 19. The regular game pack is going around for $59.99 whereas the special edition is priced at $89.99. This makes it the second most expensive game to be released this year. Only $129.99 Legendary Edition of Halo 3 does one better.

So, is this 'Special Edition' really worth your hard-earned greenbacks? In a word, yes. This edition comes with some cool merchandise that make it worth the extra 30 dollars. From the looks of it, the special edition has been envisaged keeping in mind the overall theme of the game and the extras in the packing carry forward the hinted-at smuggling theme in GTA series.
The GTA IV Special Edition will be packed in a customized GTA metal safety box (how cool is that?) and will include the following:
Grand Theft Auto IV (the game itself)
The GTA IV art book, featuring never-before-seen artwork
Exclusive soundtrack CD
A Rockstar keychain for the safety deposit box keys
A limited edition Rockstar duffel bag
Not too bad for the extra $30 that this would cost you.
Obviously, if you cant afford one, get ready to beg thy bestest buddy. As far as I'm concerned, my saving pains begin now!
