With Carmen Electra rocking the world of Guitar Hero 3, it is obvious that the product will be a big hit. The game franchisee Activision recorded a whopping $115 million in North America since its launch on Oct. 28th! The CEO and chairman of Activision Robert Kotick revealed the figures very recently.
The sales was more than 1 million in North America alone! Activision saw some record earnings in the past year. However, the third quarter earnings were pretty darn big. For those who have no clue about what I am talking about, here’s further details on the Guitar Hero 3.
It’s a multi featured game that allows the users to simply have fun with music and guitar! This is probably one of the few ‘video games’ that made celebrities like Carmen Electra and Tony Romo get addicted to it. As a matter of fact, the game has become so popular that, South Park based one of it’s episodes on the game! I think that is very interesting.
The sales record of Guitar Hero III:Legends of Rock can be now compared with yet another popular game: Halo 3. Although, Halo 3 is way ahead of the Guitar Hero sales. Halo 3 sold for $170 million in the U.S., whereas the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock sold for $115 million!
