So finally Hasbro let the world have a glimpse of the Nerf line at the Toy Fair 2008 and paired with the delicious Nerf Wii blaster unveiled last week, made the day for Wii lovers. Officially called the Switch Shot EX-3, the Wii peripheral is a part of the Nerf N-Strike line of blasters which functions both as a gun peripheral as well as a Nerf dart blaster courtesy a removable dart module that slips into the remote slot. The lower half of the barrel is designed to store two additional Nerf darts along with a Nerf N-Strike accessory rail. With no additional accessories, the N-Strike rail is made compatible with the Nerf Recon blaster’s red dot sight as well as the N-Strike tactical light. To be included with the upcoming Nerf N-Strike game for Wii, the Switch Shot EX-3 is tentatively priced at $13-15 and should be in stores by fall later this year.

Meanwhile EA and Hasbro have plans to also make the Nerf N-strike for Nintendo DS though it isn’t yet clear whether that version will come with the Switch Shot blaster. The Toy Fair also saw the stunning Nerf Vulcan EBF-25, the tripod-mounted motorized Nerf machine gun with an ammo belt and a storage box that lets you fire 25 darts without reloading! What’s even more stunning is that it also has an N-Strike clip that will let you use tactical lights, scopes or sights to better your aim. The Nerf Vulcan EBF-25 will also be available this fall and should retail for $40.
