Who says that PS3 has exclusive titles in scarce? Thanks to Free Radical, who has dropped PC and Xbox360 versions of Haze from the chart and is developing the game exclusively for the PS3. The report comes from Ubisoft, who told GameSpot that Free Radical’s FPS ‘Haze’ is now being planned solely for Sony’s PS3 platform. Previously, Free Radical had confirmed Haze as a multiplatform game scheduled for this spring release.
However, reason behind sudden sidetracking from mainstream path has not yet been disclosed, but most probably, it’s fast growing sales of PS3 hardware that makes Free Radical’s state-of-mind ship unsteady. However, this could be authenticated with the help an announcement made by the company in the month of May, when it admitted that the PS3 would become the ‘leading platform’ in near future. Free Radical didn’t talk any exclusivity issue that time.
Latest update: Ubisoft has rectified its statement saying that only PS3 version of Haze is currently in development and leaves its doors wide open for ‘new partnerships’ in near future, but presently the game is planned only for the PS3.
The latest confirmation has made a clean breast of matter as (in my opinion) the game would come as a time-exclusive title for the PS3, which would be followed by its launch on other two platforms i.e. PC and Xbox360.
Bolstered by single as well as multiplayer mode, Free Radical’s sci-fi first person shooter will see its worldwide launch this November.
