Sometimes cheat codes are intentionally put in the games for the players to find, which are called 'Easter eggs'. While sometimes a player genuinely discovers them through his anxiety or many times due to his frustration while he is stuck at a point.
The history of cheat codes is very old but of now it is coming in the open courtesy the various websites solely dedicated for that purpose.
The recent one to join the list of cheat code sites is Mycheats.com launched by Sam Kennedy, Editor-in-Chief of 1UP.com, who is a dedicated video gamer himself.
Mycheats.com has a large database of cheat codes and even a rating system for user submitted data.
Though the cheat codes were originally designed to be used when a player got stuck in a game but as every good invention has a darker side, the cheat codes are also used by gamers to gain an upper hand in a game via different types of bonus.
