As always rumors have again struck the gaming world, now the news is that the much popular gaming magazine Nintendo Power is nearing extinction.

IGN has stated that the magazine is counting its last breaths and the project will soon be closed. Some inside sources of the magazine have also stated that the mass layoffs are taking place and employees have been told to look for jobs somewhere else by September.
However, there has been no final confirmation on the news by Nintendo of America.
The magazine which was launched in 1988, has faced stiff competition from all emerging game websites. These websites offer better timely news and reviews to the readers. This cannot be incorporated in a magazine. This had made more and more people to flee the magazine trend of yesterday and opt for much more detailed and recent web media.
Without any official confirmation we are not in a position to comment more on the news, but still we feel that either the magazine is undergoing some kind of a rebirth or is on the last stages of its life.
