Is the gaming world ready for Google ads popping up in videogames?

The Mountain View, Calif based Google Inc is in communique with signing a definitive agreement with Adscape Media Inc., a private company that sells software that integrates ad placement in games. The attempts of Google Inc to broker ads beyond the Web might soon extent into ads that pop up in videogames. Adscape Media Inc. is a closely held San Francisco company whose technology enables for the offering of advertising over the Internet and placement within videogames. The move might be concluded as soon as next week.

Whereas Google has taken a rain check to give any comment on the subject, but for commenting that the company keeps on looking forward to innovative ways to expand its advertising program with the aim of providing advantages to its users, advertisers and publishers, and that in-game advertising provides one such potential expansion amongst several others. The deal is also expected to match up with Microsoft's $200 million purchase of the in-game advertising company Massive previous year, an acquirement that a few insiders say beat Google to the punch. With the interest of Google & Microsoft in-game advertising, the move is going ahead into the gaming mainstream
