Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4 delayed till 2008

If you are eagerly waiting for the latest story of Solid Snake in the form of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, then you have to wait till next year. The game was originally slated for November 2007 release but a delay announced at E3 2007 pushed it back to first quarter of 2008.

While describing the announcement, Konami stated that there is need of further improvements to improve the quality of the game. Metal Gear Solid 4 is one of the most important third party exclusives for the PlayStation 3. Metal Gear Solid 4 is considered crucial for Sony's gaming division, which just recorded an $843 million loss for the quarter. Hope fully, the new $399 40GB unit is due out on November 2 will help spur sales of the console.

Developed by franchise creator Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid 4 features an older, more cynical version of series hero Solid Snake to neutralize a massive private army. Many characters from previous Metal Gear titles are slated to appear in the game.
