LeapFrog is known for their learning devices those are targeted at audiences ranging from infants to 12 year old kids. They’ll soon be rolling out their new handheld gaming (learning?) device named Didj this summer. It will be incorporated with games as well as learning stuff for 4 – 10 year olds. LeapFrog will also be launching Leapster 2 which is geared towards younger kids. Didj can be a competitor to Nintendo DS once it’s launched in market. It won’t be having Wi-Fi but LeapFrog’s got Connect Application for that. It will connect device to PC/Mac using USB and will allow kids to customize game content. Didj features 393 MHz Arm9 processor, 3.2” 16.7 million color display with 320×240 resolution, 32 MB of DDR1 RAM working at 131 MHz, 256MB of memory for data storage and uses Brio firmware. There are reports that the game which will be shipped with Didj is graphically good. It will be available in July for mere $90 and 10 games will be available in very first year including Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
