So the decided that he will give a free cab ride for few lucky New Yorkers.
In a promotional event that borders on the bizarre, Nintendo’s star of countless video game classics, Mario, will be giving away a special treat to a few lucky New Yorkers today. As an effort to promote the new racing game Mario Kart Wii Mario will be in the area of the Sheraton on 7th Avenue today, between 52nd and 53rd streets, hailing cabs and offering free cab rides for lucky travelers. Mario will reportedly be manning the streets early this afternoon and will more than likely be surrounded by a cadre of Nintendo faithful.
This is exactly the way to always stay on top. Nintendo realizes that every time it has a chance to do something to promote one of its new releases, it needs to do that and do it in some style. Moreover why would one ever want to miss out giving the world a bit of Mario and his driving skills? This is a clever and bright idea and as you can see- it already has worked like a charm!
