At GDC, Nokia has given an insight on what the future N-Gage would be like. It said that the N-Gage software would manage game buying and storing, and provide Xbox Live-style community features.
It has also confirmed that there will be no more N-Gage phones made for games. The N-Gage will instead become a games 'platform', a set of software for handsets, to be accessed like any other from the menu, running on Nokia's upcoming smartphones.
Nokia also revealed that the new N-Gage platform is expected to launch in 2007 with, 'a variety of games and devices'.
It has two main aims:
a) Making it easier for you to learn about and buy games, and
b) To play with and share your achievements in the games you already own.
Sound and innovative thinking by Nokia, isn't it? Anyway, the B-Gage as a gaming device was a super-flop. It killed the phone that it was as well with its side-talk (that was later clumsily corrected).
