IGN comes with a report claiming that the next iteration in the Katamari Damacy named Beautiful Katamari (PS3) has been called back. The reason behind withdrawing the game from the platform is said to be some development issue that includes low PS3 sale as well.
The game that was anticipated for all three next-gen consoles is currently undergoing a downtime. Even, the game has received some hot previous over Worthplaying.com that contains quite prolonged write-up with an image gallery.
The news is really saddening for the PS3 folks as they are going to lose one more title. As per earlier reports, Namco Bandai had been developing the game for all next-gen platforms. Also, instead of favoring the game for Wii, the American weekly newsmagazine Newsweek confirmed Katamari as an Xbox360 exclusive.
In case if Namco Bandai axes the PS3 version of the game, it is at big mistake as the sale of the PS3 is on the way to rise. Some online retailers like EBGames and Amazon have reported that the PS3 sale is constantly going up, whereas the sales of top selling console i.e. the Wii has become steady.
No doubt, Wii is the console that makes the best use of motion-sensing technology in its futuristic Wii-mote and maybe it what Namco is looking for its new title, but if PS3’s controller gets its rumble controls back and pushes its sales a bit more, then Namco is going to repent, for sure. Furthermore, the game appears irresistibly appealing in HD, so this could another advantage that Namco will probably miss out.
